Faux Oil Lamp

I love this candle project idea! It’s made from an old outside light fixture and a couple bottle lids. I see those things kicking around at garage sales all the time but it never occurred to me to try something like this. Jane Lake gives us detailed instructions with more ideas on different ways to [...]

Honeypot Luminary
November 18, 2007 | Leave a Comment
I was hanging out at Greenfeet today and discovered these gorgeous honeypot luminaries. They’re globes made out of pure beeswax with dried flowers embedded into them. What a great idea! They’re signed and dated by the artist and each one is a unique piece of art that can be reused. You simply insert a tealight [...]

Weathered Barn Candle Holder
November 12, 2007 | Leave a Comment
I love the rustic look of this candle holder and if you have the right tools it’s not too hard to create. It’s easier if you just use weathered wood rather than trying to make new wood look weathered. The tealights fit perfectly into the holes when complete. For full instructions see the candle holder [...]

Multi-Purpose Beeswax
November 10, 2007 | 1 Comment
At Waldorf Supplies they have candle decorating wax, modeling beeswax and block beeswax. Beeswax is non-toxic and the bonus for using it for modeling clay is that it never hardens! That sure drives me nuts finding hardened play dough specks around the house.
For the holidays Waldorf Supplies have beautiful wax angel and Christmas molds.

Grubby Snowman Candle Project
November 6, 2007 | 2 Comments
Here’s a cute grubby snowman project from Village Craft and Candles. It was made using a Fleximold with a slit along the side.
The checkered scarf and the button eyes are a great touch. You could make a couple of them with each having different styles and/or colors.
