I found this DIY patriotic candle holder craft from Fave Crafts that uses Plaid paints. You’ll need a star template, paint, candle holders, candles, a ruler and a craft knife.

It’s a great project if you’re looking for some American candle décor in a hurry. I think traditional votive holders would look just as good because square votive holders aren’t that easy to find. See Patriotic Candle Holders for the full tutorial.
