Beeswax candles with kids

July 22, 2008 |

Beeswax tapered candles are beautiful, they smell sweet and they’re easy to make. Our 12 year olds enjoyed rolling these up and because they’re so sticky you can seal the rolled line together easily.

All we did was cut one sheet in two nine inches in on the left and then again on the right. You could also simply cut them diagonally.

We used a red sheet of beeswax with #1 cotton wick, which burns beautifully. One of the sheets actually cracked somehow and we ended up with three pretty candles so it worked out.

Just make sure you roll them as tight as you can around the wick because the tighter it is the better it will burn.
