Candle Stenciling

May 30, 2007 |

Nancy Henning shares this project from StencilSearch.com. I love the stencil idea because I can not draw anything that is recognizable. For this project you will need a few simple things.

Fish on candle

  1. Plain White Candle
  2. Rubbing Alcohol
  3. Candle Painting Medium
  4. Acrylic Paint
  5. Stencil
  6. Stencil Brushes
  7. Stencil Adhesive
  8. Rubber Bands
  9. Blue Tape
  10. Paper Towels

I found the brushes and paint at Michael’s craft store. No matter how many paper towels I purchase, we always run out right away so I keep a lot of rags on hand. I’m not sure what the family keeps using them for and not sure that I want to know.Nancy suggests finishing your project in melted beeswax. A pricey idea, but a good one nonetheless. For full project details see CandleStenciling by Nancy Henning. If you try it or have done it before, let me know and send a pic.
