Easy Beeswax Leaf Candle

I found this fun maple leaf cookie cutter to dress up some of my pillar candles. There is also a pumpkin and a turkey in the set that are perfect for halloween or thanksgiving. Just use the cookie cutter to press and cut the shapes out of the beeswax and stick them on.

My children took off with my camera and it’s nowhere to be found but I snapped one of the candle with my husband’s cell phone.

Cookie Candle Tarts

Aren’t these cookie candle tarts cute? Lisa from Wicks Wax Scents creates and sells these delicious looking cookie tarts to use in a burner to scent your home.

You just break a piece off and melt. You can get electric burners or use an oil burner with a tea light.

These cookies look so yummy and fun to make. Lisa made apple cinnamon, sugar and vanilla cookies. I love the decorative touches with the whipped wax, fruit bits and sprinkles. You can buy 6 for 9.99. I might try making chocolate chip tarts since I have some chocolate scent left.

Banana Split Candle

I love banana splits but can’t indulge in them too often. Here’s a delectable banana split you can indulge in without the calories. You can purchase one like this from JLS Candle Designs or learn how to make your own at CandleKitchen.com.

The banana split project lists all supplies you need with detailed instructions. There are three wicks in each ice cream mound with one scented chocolate and one strawberry. I would go one further and scent the other with vanilla.

Fruit Salad Candle

We’re all getting a little antsy here and looking forward to spring but I found a project to brighten things up a little.

This is such a colorful fruit salad candle and you can get everything you need in a kit at CandlesAndSupplies.com. It comes with the melon halves, wicks, gel, scent, wax fruit salad and instructions.

If you wanted to sell the candle, you could double your money and I think it would go over well. You could also make your own molds to create the fruit and save even more.

I’m getting a new camera so will be able to share pics of some of my creations again with you soon. I also have a couple new candle making books I’m looking forward to reviewing and sharing with you.

Hot Fudge Sundae & Pumpkin Tart Projects

Here’s a couple hands on projects for those who want to create some yummy candles. CraftBits.com offer many other candle making projects for free. I chose these two because they look so delicious and we can make them smell good enough to eat.

The hot fudge sundae is made with wax and vanilla scent although I would suggest adding chocolate scent but I’m a chocolate fiend. The cherry on top is a nice touch also. You can just roll up a little soft red or pink wax into a ball for that. See the Hot Fudge Sundae project page for full instructions.

For the spiced pumpkin tart they used a little aluminum pie tin and explain how to make the pie shell and crimp the edges. Sounds fun without the calories. I love pumpkin pie but it doesn’t last around here. Pumpkin candles can be enjoyed much longer. Check out the Spiced Pumpkin Tart project on CraftBits for more.

Soy Strawberry Cheesecake Candle Project

You can also do these candles in lemon, blueberry, chocolate or raspberry. They make a great gift idea and would be handy to have a few for unexpected guests or last minute party invites. For this project you will need:

12 x 4 oz tins
12 HTP1″-2″ wick
60 ml vanilla
10 ml of strawberry and blueberry
5 ivory, red, and blue dye chips
3 lbs of millenium soy wax

Sweet Tooth Candles

Jennifer has been busy making her realistic looking yummy bakery candles at Sweet Tooth Candles. This apple crumble pie looks so real that she had someone attempt to cut into it when they received it as a gift.

I love this Jack O’Lantern candle and I bet it smells delicious.

If you only wanted a slice you could go for something like this slice of cheesecake. Knowing it won’t go straight to my hips is a bonus although I admit not being able to eat it is a tease.

Muffin Candle Project

She used chopped crayon bits for nuts and decorations and has tricked people into thinking they were real.

Materials needed:

Candle Making Supplies (Wax, Dyes, Boiler, Wicks etc.)
Paper Muffin Cups (2-3 for one candle)
Whisk
Old Crayons (chopped into small pieces)

She whips the wax until it gets frothy for the icing but for full instructions see the Muffin Candle Project Page.

Fruit Compote Candle

Fruit Compote Glass
Small flower pot votive glass
Votive candle
LP gel wax
Wax fruit
Wax fruit embeds (your choice)
Scent
Glue gun and glue stick
Thermometer
