I found this beautiful new year pillar candle project at Michael’s Craft store website. Full instructions are there and you can download the candle painting pattern as well.

I have not painted anything more than spots, stripes and happy faces on candles. I am getting more ambitious since the new year is coming and there’s a template provided. They explain how to use tracing paper and then graphite paper to transfer the pattern.

I love the contrast of the paint on the black candle. It does look like fun. If you do try it, happy painting and new year!
