I found this crazy Christmas trick candle for kids through Modern Mechanix blog.

You light the wick and the child gets a surprise because the outer shell of the candle comes flying off to reveal a stick of candy. The spring is activated once the wick is lit.

To be fair it’s an article from Popular Science in 1933 but it’s a strange trick or toy for children. I suppose many toys have been banned since then.
