I found this crazy Christmas trick candle for kids through Modern Mechanix blog.
You light the wick and the child gets a surprise because the outer shell of the candle comes flying off to reveal a stick of candy. The spring is activated once the wick is lit.
To be fair it’s an article from Popular Science in 1933 but it’s a strange trick or toy for children. I suppose many toys have been banned since then.
By the way I’m having a hard time finding blogs about candles so if you have one, let us know!

I make candles and soaps and blog about my adventures often! I am having a hard time finding candle blogs too, but I’m at http://bubblesandflames.blogspot.com
Patrice, thanks so much for responding. Sorry for the late reply but you got trapped in the spam folder. Fun blog!
We have a candle blog, it isn’t real old yet, about 6 months or so. I try to keep it updated quite regularly. I was doing some research for it which is actually how I found your blog. We also make all kinds of candles.
